Anywhere you go in our time, you're almost guaranteed to come across a song or two. Pop songs. Rock songs. Hip-hop songs. As the old adage goes, there seems to be "something for everybody" within the realm of music.
Yet, will the wrong kinds of music have a negative impact upon your soul?
This entry occurred during a time when I was separating myself from more and more of my past loves of the world. Heavy metal and rock music was a big one, and something that had a significant part in my life for many years.
And it was this lucid-state encounter which gave further affirmation regarding its dark spiritual side.
I have found this commandment in I John 4:1 to be very important in dreams; almost like a "Spiritual Warfare 101" type of lesson. Reason being is because demons -- almost always, I've found -- masquerade in some kind of deceiving form.
(big "red flag" example: if you're having frequent dreams involving interaction with family or loved ones...those probably aren't your family and loved ones. Ask them, in Jesus' name, if they're demons. They'll give an honest answer)
And while it's very important to "know thine enemy", it's also important to be aware of your allies.
This dream encounter illustrates a case where an angel of the Lord correctly identified himself to me, according to I John 4:1. His subtle manner of glowing appearance also lines up with various passages in Scripture. A masquerading familiar spirit appeared shortly thereafter and attempted to disguise himself as this very angel; leading to an additional lesson on the more finer points in exercising discernment.
May this testimony be a help for you fellow spiritual warriors out there.
We're all going to be much, much needed in the short days ahead.
This vivid vision/dream involved, I believe, my witnessing of two elderly souls which passed on from this world.
One who went to be with the Lord -- and one who didn't.
Upon waking after experiencing this vivid vision I was unsettled, as this was one of the first visions that I had ever received (as a vision is more like an observer, rather than a participant).
