I just had a dream where I confronted a...seemingly...more powerful demon and was unable to cast him out.
This demon took the form of my old boss from a recent job (my boss was Mormon. ...Not sure if there's a correlation). Upon being asked in the name of Jesus if he was a demon (1 John 4:1), he merely smirked and answered "...yeah".
Aside from this, there were two other points in my dreams last night where the Lord revealed areas in my life that are still apparently holding me in bondage. At the first point, I was performing at a concert as a drummer for a garage band that I had a very brief involvement with when I was 15. ...and as with most teenage garage bands, it didn't last. Afterward though, I developed a greater interest in drum beats; of which are most often associated with rock and metal music.
During the second fragment of my dream, I was somehow playing a fighting video game similar to a franchise called Mortal Kombat. And during the character selection screen. I chose this -- very wicked, evil-looking female character which appeared to be physically morphed with an ominous tree, thickly rooted into the ground.
(...these images are tough to accurately describe! I can imagine how John felt).
The character's English display name was "Anata no Muchi" (あなたのむち). I know some Japanese, so I immediately recognized that this was an English romanization of a noun describing me. Basically, "anata no" can translate into the possessive "your [blank]", but I wasn't familiar with the term "muchi".
So I went to Google Translate for a definition [12/14/2017 edit: now linked to jisho.org].
The result was a bit chilling and accurate upon seeing (as I cannot recall ever coming across this word in the entirety of my college Japanese studies).
Translated, it means: "Your ignorance".
12/14/2017 edit: "muchi" can actually mean more than ignorance!

- At the time, I had left the job that I spoke of, above, on...less than amicable terms (i.e. I no-called/no-showed and quit). The demon taking a masquerading form of my former boss, I believe, could have represented resentment toward me.
- Video games and rock music, also, were two longtime stronghold influences over my life (with video games being the much stronger of the two). The Mortal Kombat selection screen (...fitting title; Eph. 6:12) depicting the wicked half-woman/half-tree with thick roots, I believe, was a literal representation of just how deep the spiritual "roots" of video gaming were on my life (I had first started gaming at about 3-4 years old!).
- Seeing the translation of anata-no-muchi for the first was a BIG attention getter. I still even have my Japanese textbooks from college -- and the noun/na-adjective "ignorance" is not in either one of them (not to mention god/goddess!). I believe this was definitely the Lord communicating to me here.
- The reason for God displaying the English romanization of the Japanese term "muchi", I believe, is due to that term having multiple meanings which equally applied to my situation.
