February 24, 2017 (6-6:30 a.m.)
Each of us are assigned a familiar spirit.
Mine was intimately revealed to me in this semi-lucid state dream where I was inside of my old house and within my old bedroom. From here, I had decided to enter into my closet and go up into the attic.
As I remember, just soon after ascending and entering, I was then ambushed and pinned down by a nude figure of a spirit being taking my form: my dimensions, my voice...yet, a hate-filled set of eyes with grit teeth and a scowl -- and even foam protruding out from his mouth.
It was a struggle (Ephesians 6:12), yet...as I was pinned down, I do remember gripping both of its wrists with my hands and reminding him of his defeat.
I had awoke soon after this -- but could not move my physical body out of the covers.
Mysteriously, I also was still in cognizant operation of my soul body.
...back in a dream state again, I then recall walking around my bedroom of my current house. This time, there was a full-length mirror situated in front of me. As I peered into it -- I could then see a doppelganger (familiar spirit) version of myself standing very close behind me; even wearing the exact same work clothes that I had on.
Very close behind me...as if this spirit is assigned to intimately follow me.
- Why did my dream begin with me in my old house, and in my old bedroom?
Houses, in dreams, are a representation of our very lives (Matthew 12:43-45 & Luke 11:24-26), while old houses convey issues that have its origin during that specific time period. And bedrooms, further still, symbolize the area of intimacy and privacy in our lives.
Broken down so far, therefore, my dream is indicating an issue from the past involving an intimate area of my life.
- One's Body (Soul/Spirit) Described as a "House"
...(43)When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. (44)Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. (45)Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation...
...(24)When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. (25)And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. (26)Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first...
- Old Houses: Past Issues; "Setback"
...(4)And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? (5)We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: (6)But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes. (7)And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium. (8)And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil. (9)And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.
(10)Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased...
...(18)Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. (19)Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. (20)The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen...
- Bedrooms: Intimate, Private, & Personal Areas
...(29)And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt: (30)But I will lie with my fathers, and thou shalt carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their buryingplace. And he said, I will do as thou hast said.
(31)And he said, Swear unto me. And he sware unto him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed's head...
...(1)And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. (2)Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father. (3)Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: (4)Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch...
...(2)Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. (3)Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. (4)Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge...
- Why did I then enter into my closet, and head up into my attic?
Defined in Scripture, closets are the areas reserved for private prayer and communication to the Lord. And while attics (as far as I'm currently aware) don't appear to be specifically defined in the Bible, it would seem logical to presume that this would be the area of one's "house" which represents matters of the mind.
So, to recap: House --> life. Old house --> Past issue. Bedroom --> Privacy/Intimacy. Closet --> Prayer. Attic --> Mind.
- Closets: Prayer and Communication with the Lord
...(15)Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: (16)Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. (17)Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God? (18)Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people...
...(5)And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. (6)But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (7)But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. (8)Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him...
...(1)In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. (2)For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. (3)Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops...
- Attics: The Representation of One's Mind
...(3)Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (4)Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: (5)For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust. (6)The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy...
...(29)And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. (30)For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. (31)But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. (32)Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom...
Romans 12:1-2, 14-18
...(1)I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2)And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God...
...(14)Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. (15)Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. (16)Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. (17)Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. (18)If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men...
I Corinthians 2:14-16
...(14)But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (15)But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
(16)For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ...
...(17)This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, (18)Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: (19)Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. (20)But ye have not so learned Christ...
II Timothy 1:6-7
...(6)Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. (7)For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind...
I Peter 1:13-16
...(13)Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (14)As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: (15)But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (16)Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy...
I Peter 4:1-5
...(1)Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; (2)That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. (3)For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: (4)Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: (5)Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead...
- Why was the familiar spirit, who then ambushed me, nude?
The Scriptures do say that the possessed man of Gergesenes/Gadarenes was nude...so, this could be a revelation regarding how evil spirits, in general, seek to humiliate mankind.
- Nakedness and Possession (Demonic Attribute)
...(9)And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
(10)And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. (11)Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. (12)And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. (13)And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. (14)And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. (15)And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. (16)And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. (17)And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts...
...(26)And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. (27)And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. (28)When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. (29)(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) (30)And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. (31)And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep...
- Why was foam protruding out from the demon's mouth?
Dissected, foam is another interesting term in Scripture, which appears to denote shame (Jude v.13), possession (Mark 9:18,20 & Luke 9:39); and, in matters of deliverance, separation (Hosea 10:7). Therefore, I would say that this symbolism here clearly points to another distinguishing trait regarding demonic spirits.
- Foam: Shame, Possession, and Deliverance/Cleansing
...(7)As for Samaria, her king is cut off as the foam upon the water. (8)The high places also of Aven, the sin of Israel, shall be destroyed: the thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us...
...(17)And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; (18)And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. (19)He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. (20)And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. (21)And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. (22)And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
(23)Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth...
...(38)And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child. (39)And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him. (40)And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not...
...(7)Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (8)Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. (9)Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. (10)But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
(11)Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. (12)These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; (13)Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever...
- Why was I in cognizant operation of my soul body...while still awake?
I think this was also a means of communicating how this familiar spirit was manifesting through both my past and my present. In addition, it's also a strong witness which points to the multi-faceted nature of our very beings.
- Triune Man: Body, Soul, & Spirit
...(7)And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (8)And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. (9)And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil...
I Corinthians 15:39-49
...(39)All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. (40)There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. (41)there is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. (42)So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: (43)It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: (44)It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
(45)And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. (46)Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. (47)The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (48)As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. (49)And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly...
II Corinthians 12:1-4
...(1)It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
(2)I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. (3)And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) (4)How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter...
II Corinthians 5:6-10
...(6)Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (7)(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) (8)We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. (9)Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. (10)For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad...
- Why did the setting then change to my current bedroom of my current house?
Here, this was expressing a matter stemming from the past -- and carrying over its influence into the present.
While I, again, haven't yet found 2 or 3 witnesses pertaining to anything similar to mirrors (aside from James 1:23-24), from my collective dream experiences, altogether, I believe that God does use mirrors in order to show us things about ourselves that we would not normally see, otherwise; such as the case, here, in revealing just how closely this familiar spirit follows me.
