...(24)And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
(25)But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness. (26)For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner. (27)King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
(28)Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. (29)And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
(30)And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them: (31)And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds. (32)Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar...
...(1)I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2)And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
(3)For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. (4)For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: (5)So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. (6)Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophecy according to the proportion of faith; (7)Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; (8)Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
(9)Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. (10)Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; (11)Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; (12)Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; (13)Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality...
II Corinthians 5:11-19
...(11)Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. (12)For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart. (13)For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. (14)For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: (15)And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
(16)Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. (17)Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (18)And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; (19)To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation...
I Thessalonians 5:4-11
...(4)But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. (5)Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
(6)Therefore let us not sleep, as others; but let us watch and be sober. (7)For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. (8)But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. (9)For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, (10)Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
(11)Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do...
I Timothy 3:1-13
...(1)This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
(2)A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; (3)Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; (4)One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (5)(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) (6)Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. (7)Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
(8)Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; (9)Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. (10)And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. (11)Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. (12)Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. (13)For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus...
...(5)For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: (6)If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
(7)For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; (8)But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; (9)Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers...
...(1)But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: (2)That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
(3)The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; (4)That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, (5)To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
(6)Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. (7)In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, (8)Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
(9)Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; (10)Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. (11)For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, (12)Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; (13)Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; (14)Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
(15)These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee...
I Peter 1:9-16
...(9)Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
(10)Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: (11)Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. (12)Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
(13)Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (14)As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: (15)But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (16)Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy...
I Peter 4:6-11
...(6)For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
(7)But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. (8)And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. (9)Use hospitality one to another without grudging. (10)As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (11)If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen...
I Peter 5:5-11
...(5)Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
(6)Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: (7)Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (8)Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (9)Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (10)But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
(11)To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen...

...One morning, after an especially bad night, I literally could not hold my head up. I had to leave class and barely made it out to the lawn before vomiting my insides up. When I was through, sitting there, trying to get my breath and forget about the awful taste, there was this guy looking down at me.
"You know, you're killing yourself on alcohol," he said. "don't you know what booze does to you inside? Wait till you're barfing like that every day -- if you're not already." I frowned and tried to think of something to put him down with, but instead of going on with his lecture, he looked around and then said, "Look, I've got what you need," He sat down beside m and pulled out a pack of unlabeled cigarettes.
Now this guy did not look like the dirty old man wearing a raincoat who molested little children on a bus. He was a real smart dresser, just a regular college student who wore a pin-striped shirt with the button-down collar, levis, and black tennis shoes. His name was Dean Armstrong.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Man, you must be nuts." Well, I just brushed him off. Got up and split. You know, back in 1965 anybody that smoked a reefer, had his hair slicked back, wore a black leather jacket with chains on it, and carried a switchblade -- ugh! That kind of jazz turned me off.
It was about this time that I switched roommates. A week or so went by, and my stomach was still hurting. I tried everything I could think of, except giving up drinking. My new roommate suggested I try what Dean offered me, and not wanting to be left out, I finally went along with it.
Classes started getting more interesting again, and I got to where I really liked marijuana. My stomach was much better when I laid off the liquor, and by substituting marijuana, I began to feel good again...
...It was not long before someone introduced me to peyote, which had been brought up from Mexico. By this time I was smoking pot like mad, turning on in the morning, at noon, and when I got home from classes. I was really starting to live, I thought. All these good-looking chicks coming around, everybody listening to what I had to say. My days as an outsider were over!
When we tried the peyote, we decided it was better and heavier than pot. We also started eating mescaline in our food in increasing quantities, and from there we went on to reds.
The marijuana had been free to start with, then Dean started giving it to me at a buck a load. In San Bernardino there was not much of a market in those days, so most of the pushers practically gave away the stuff until they were sure someone was hooked psychologically. By the time we got to the heavier stuff, it was harder to get and the price went up.
Soon after, word got around the quad that a Harvard psychologist named Leary had come out on a treatise on LSD. Some doctors came to the campus to conduct controlled group experiments on the drug. My friends and I decided to volunteer on the tests...
...Had the doctors warned us of flashbacks and other possible side effects of this drug, we probably would have taken it anyway. Had I known that 85 percent of the people who go on to others drugs start with marijuana, would I have tried the LSD experiment? I'm afraid so. Granted, they did not know then what could happen on a bad trip, but the point is, I did not eve ask questions. I just sat there and let them shove it into me. Where was the question man? Where was the boy who insisted on knowing all the answers before he could or would make up his mind to do something?...

Chapter 7 Drugs, Drugs, Drugs
...The drugs marijuana, amphetamine, "downers," LSD, cocaine, and yes, even heroine are frequently mentioned in the lyrics of literally thousands of Rock songs, past and present. Often times these lyrics are buried in the song's "mix" so that F.C.C. watchdogs and other persons in positions of authority such as parents and church and school administrators cannot recognize them for what they are. Sometimes a kind of "street code" language is used to mask the drug references. One thing is certain. To the average high school kid sitting in his or her room listening to Rock music with headphones on, the hidden drug messages of a Black Sabbath or Rolling Stones tune are as plain as day. Black Sabbath's "SWEET LEAF," from their third LP, "Master of Reality," glorifies marijuana:
"You are introduced me to my mind
And left me wanting you and you kind
...Some other classic Stones' tunes that mention and promote drugs either by title or lyric, are as follows:
"STONED" -- "Where am I...Outta my mind..."
"19TH NERVOUS BREAKDOWN" -- "On our first trip I tried so hard/To rearrange your mind..."
"LADY J" -- In drug jargon, heroin is known as "The Lady in White," and marijuana is often called "Mary Jane."
"BROWN SUGAR" -- Another term for Mexican heroin.
"RIP THIS JOINT" -- Self explanatory.
"COMING DOWN AGAIN" -- Self explanatory.
The first American hard Rock band of the Sixties, Steppenwolf, (still touring in the 1980's), took a fierce, anti-establishment, pro-drug stance with many of their songs, most notably "The Pusher," and "Don't Step On The Grass, Sam," They helped set the stage for today's Drug-Rock bands. The San Francisco based Jefferson Airplane, (now the wildly popular Jefferson Starship, with a long string of hit singles and LP's), penned one of the first LSD songs, "White Rabbit,"...

CHAPTER TWO ESCAPE INTO MARRIAGE
As helpful as it always seemed, I did recognize that marijuana was becoming a problem for me. One night before a trip to Las Vegas to work with Glen Campbell in the main showroom of the MGM Grand Hotel, I stayed up late getting stoned with friends. I slept a few hours, then left at six A.M. for the airport, not realizing that I was still under the influence of the drugs from the night before. Traveling down the main boulevard to the freeway, I didn't hear an ambulance coming full speed in the opposite direction until it came over a rise in the road. We were inches from a head-on collision. I jerked to the right as he swerved left. We were so close as he sped by that the air between us jostled my car. As I braked to a stop to catch my breath, I realized that everyone else on the road had already pulled to the side. They had heard the sirens; I hadn't heard a thing. I knew then that I was going to kill myself if I didn't back off from the drinking and drugs.
A few weeks later at Rick's house, I baked a pan of brownies with a large amount of marijuana in it. Rick ate a few pieces and I nearly finished off the rest of the pan by myself. I had an uncontrollable chocolate habit, and once I started eating it I couldn't stop until it was gone.
It takes longer to get high from eating marijuana than smoking it, but once the high happens it doesn't wear off for a long time. I didn't pay attention to the amount I had eaten. At first I got giddy and silly, then dizzy and numb. Suddenly I realized that I had eaten way too much, for a crushing heaviness settled in my body and I felt like I was going to pass out.
"I've got to lie down," I said breathlessly to Rick as I stumbled to the couch and fell facedown. I hung on tightly to the cushion as the room began spinning so fast I thought I would disintegrate. Soon I couldn't move. I was paralyzed. My body felt dead, but inside I was still very much alive, trapped and unable to escape.
Where was Rick? Why wasn't he helping me? I called his name. Or at least I thought I did. But there was no answer.
Six hours later I finally managed to lift my head. I could see Rick in the bedroom asleep. It took another two hours to force my body to the kitchen, where I washed my face with cold water and got something to drink.
What a stupid move! Had I almost killed myself again because of drugs? I knew I had to take action to correct my lifestyle or I was going to self-destruct, but I felt powerless to do it. Something inside was driving me to keep making bad choices -- choices for death -- over and over. Half of me wanted to die, and the other half wanted to live but didn't know how...
CHAPTER NINE IT'S WHO YOU KNOW THAT COUNTS
...As my insides became more solid, the externals of my life began to change. Little by little some of my bad habits disappeared without my even trying.
"Want a cigarette?" a girlfriend offered one day at lunch.
"No thanks," I replied.
"Let my buy you a drink. How about a brandy, or a scotch?"
"No, I really don't want anything."
"Want to get high on some grass tonight? My boyfriend has got some great marijuana from South America, and we could drive over to his apartment and pick it up."
"No, honest, I'm fine. I just don't have the desire or need for those things. No offense," I foolishly apologized.
"You're getting weird, Stormie," she said, her voice turning serious.
"Please don't worry about me. I may be weird, but I'm very happy." I was met with a quizzical stare.
"Look, I'm not chemically addicted to these things; I only used them for emotional solace. Now that my emotional needs are being met by Jesus, I simply don't have the need for them anymore."
"You are getting weird, Stormie," she repeated, then changed the subject...

Chapter 3 PLAYING IT SAFE
...We must understand that all the mystique about "getting high" is Satan's smokescreen hiding a very gritty reality. One toke of a marijuana joint is enough to break down the protective hedge the Lord has placed around us, spiritually speaking. The euphoria, weirdness and lightning quick flashes of inspiration that hit all dopers (including Paul McCartney) are the work of demons. As kids seek a thrill through drug use, these evil spirits come clinging and singing into the mind of the dope smoker. This is why drugs play such an important part in Rock & Roll -- they are the main source of inspiration in the music making process.
Thing about it, young person -- one joint is all it takes to send you straight into the spiritual world that surrounds us. Satan doesn't care what your reasons are; you're in HIS territory now, and he is a cruel and ruthless assassin of trespassers. In McCartney's case, his dope dreams put to music are often covered with a sickly sweet, candy-coated syrup made with synthesizers and lush string arrangements. But there is more than meets the ear in such musical mushiness.
In his book, "Media Sexploitation," Wilson Bryan Key says this about the Beatles' music:
"The Beatles popularized and culturally legitimized hallucinatory drug usage among teenagers throughout the world. The Beatles became the super drug culture prophets and pushers of all time..."

Ch 5 Witches and Drugs
However, once we got into the second degree levels and beyond, the use of drugs became more open, almost necessary. Marijuana was used freely, both for social and magical reasons. The higher we took our people, the “higher” we took them as well. The use of drugs like LSD and hashish were common in the higher degrees, usually for “ritual” purposes.
In fact, my personal introduction to hard drugs took place at a meeting of the major Neo-Pagan central organization of its day (which shall remain nameless), where I was given hashish in the appetizers without my knowing it. It was the beginning of a ten-year involvement in illegal drugs which only Jesus Christ could totally stop. But remember, witches believe that “an it harm none, do what ye will.”
Although the public position of most Wiccan leaders in the seventies was “My no, witches do not take illegal drugs.” In actuality, illegal drugs flowed like water in every Pagan gathering I attended, both those I supervised with my lady and those we attended elsewhere! We even had a priestess in one of our covens who was kicked out of the coven because it was determined that she was a “Narc.” Oh yes, we were fine law-abiding citizens!
Gaining the "Sight"
One of the most common ritualistic reasons for getting “high” was to do what used to be called gaining the “Sight.” This meant the development of some sort of psychic powers, usually telepathy or clairvoyance — ultimately involving the opening of what occultists call the “Third Eye.” This is the Ajna Chakra, a supposed energy center located between and slightly above your eyes — hence the name. It can be “opened” or energized by the use of hallucinogenic drugs, although there are other methods as well.
Let the witches protest all they like that they are “drug-free.” They are whistling in the dark again, if not lying outright! Right in the “bible” of Wicca, the Book of Shadows, there is a ritual to gain the Sight.
In addition to recommending tying the witch up naked and having her kneel down and crouch forward into a kind of fetal position and be scourged repeatedly (a real consciousness-raising experience, I can tell you), the Book of Shadows also recommends in its list of incenses: “patchouli is best of all, and if you have hemp, tis better still, but be very careful of this.”
Patchouli is an exotic perfume, not a drug. However, “hemp” is a common word for marijuana. Basically, the Wiccan “bible” is telling you to tie the person up and carefully get them “high” so that they can acquire psychic powers. I had this ritual done to me, and have, in turn, done it for many others; and it works. However, the dangers, both physical and spiritual, are enormous!

CHAPTER 1 "K.I.S.S."
1:7 I can recall at the age of sixteen, I became aware of satan and his many demons started talking to me, and tormenting me. At the time, I did not know what these voices were, but I knew that something invisible was talking to me. I can describe the spirits of depression and torment, hovering over me like a dark cloud, telling me that everything in life was bad, and I was no good.*
1:8 *" Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms"
1:9 It was also at the age of sixteen that I was introduced to marijuana, actually hash, by a relative. At that time, this person was my idol, and I wanted to be just like her. One night, while my parents were gone, she was visiting, and we ingested hash. She stuck the drug into a capsule that we both ingested. I then ate an entire cake that my mother had made from scratch. The relative and I were sleeping in the same bed, and I rolled over and threw up in the bed, because I was so stoned and so full!! Unfortunately, another bad idea and demon was passed on fro this relative, because she told me that when she was full, she would simply throw up. I was always envious of her slim body, and I figured if puking was good for her, than it was good for me too!!
1:10 So now the spirit of puking, which I believe is a spirit of control, became a huge bondage, that brought on many problems for me and my family members. When I started the binging and purging back in high school it was not well known as it is today. The world calls it bulimia, I call it a spirit of control and it has other cousins as well. Nobody in my family could understand this gross habit. I never told my parents until recently how I got the idea. I had also started running, and my body was now getting toned and muscular. I would sneak food, steal from stores, and binge and purge. It was like I could have my cake........and eat it too!!!
1:11 It came to the point that this lifestyle, along with smoking pot, when I could, literally ripped up our once happy, loving family. My brother who is a year younger than I, began to hate me and the chaos that I was creating. We ere once very close, and our relationship now had become very explosive under the same roof. My little brothers were victims of the strife, and somehow coped with the insanity. God says that a house divided CAN'T STAND!!!*
1:12 *"Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand." Matthew 12:25 "An offended brother is more unyielding than a fortified city, and disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel." Proverbs 18:19
1:13 My parents forced me to go to a psychiatrist, because they simply could not understand why I was doing these things. I can remember hating to go, and I felt like all I was doing was playing head games with an educated shrink. He told my parents that I was very intelligent, but screwed up!!! He had no answers for my problems, because the problems were spiritual and demonic. In his defense, he simply was not trained in this area. We were living in Indiana at the time, and I can, say that life had turned into a nightmare. When it was time for me to go to college, all I wanted to do was get away from my family, get high, and do my own thing!!! I had been labeled the "devil's daughter" because of the chaos created by my actions...

Queen - Another One Bites the Dust (Backwards)
From 1:09 to 1:17, the phrase "Start to smoke marijuana..." is repeated, in sync to the rhythm of the reverse chorus.
(this phrase can also be heard, intermittently, throughout the rest of the song)
